Motherboard Basics :: Reply by mtptl11
What is the motherboard you do (or not doing)? Is it all refusing to
power up? If so, try stripping it down to the unclothed minimum: motherboard,
CPU+heatsink, RAM, energy supply, graphics card, video wire to monitor.
That equates to no tough drive, no floppy drive, no cables, no keyboard, no
mouse, no PCI cards, etc. If you can, take the motherboard out of the
case and put it on a flat, nonconducting surface, similar to a square of
cardboard or a wooden table.
Connect the energy cables to the motherboard, but do not bond the 50
million small connectors to the case. Locate the dual pins on the
motherboard which bond to the box energy button. Instead of connecting
the energy symbol wire to those pins, hold the head of a screwdriver to
those pins. That will take the place of the energy symbol for now.
If the mechanism still does not start, try stealing and reinstalling the
CPU, RAM, and graphics card. It could be which one of those is loose.
Now which the mechanism is out of the case, you should have easy entrance to
those sockets.
